Kverneland Kultistrip 2025: new press wheels and climate-adaptive strip-till
Kverneland Group keeps pushing its Kultistrip strip-till system forward and has unveiled two new hollow press wheels, now 35 cm wide instead of the standard 20 cm. The wider wheels create a small ridge over the seed row: heavy rainwater drains away from the crown zone, seedlings avoid suffocation, and the soil in the band warms up faster, resulting in even, vigorous emergence. To handle the extra weight, engineers reinforced the hydraulic down-pressure system across all five Kultistrip wheel options.
More than just a drill: a quick guide to Kverneland’s seeder line-up
Series | Type | Key highlights |
---|---|---|
Optima R / RS / V / TF profi | Pneumatic precision planters | Seeding Heart vacuum metering, 5 cm-step telescopic frame, e-drive II electric drive, SX unit for up to 18 km/h operation, GEOFORCE automatic down-pressure control |
e-drill compact / maxi / maxi plus | Integrated grain drill (power harrow + seeder) | ELDOS electric metering, variable rate & section shut-off via ISOBUS GEOCONTROL, 60:40 split option for simultaneous fertiliser/second seed placement |
u-drill 3001–6001 (+ plus) | Combination seed drill | High-speed sowing up to 15 km/h, tandem packer roller, 3 400–4 350 L central hopper |
ts-drill 5–6 m | Tine drill for minimum tillage | Simplicity and lowest cost per hectare on stubble |
DG II 9–12 m | Trailed high-capacity grain drill | Dual-zone metering for two crops or fertiliser placement at depth |
What sets Kverneland apart?
High-speed precision sowing. The SX pneumatic unit literally “shoots” the seed into the furrow with an air blast, while a rubber catching wheel dampens inertia—outpacing Monosem or John Deere MaxEmerge in speed and spacing accuracy.
Electronics out of the box. ELDOS meters, IsoMatch Tellus PRO terminals and the GEOCONTROL module let operators vary rate and shut off rows on wedge-shaped fields without third-party controllers.
Flexible frame & logistics. The telescopic Optima V switches from 70 cm maize to 45 cm beet spacing in minutes; the f-drill front hopper lightens rear axle load.
One-pass “seed + fertiliser” placement (u-drill plus, e-drill maxi plus) saves up to 15 L diesel/ha and speeds up uniform emergence.
Full ISOBUS compliance—from FarmCentre data exchange to remote dealer diagnostics.
Spare parts within reach: the Bas-Agro LLC solution
No seed drill, even the most sophisticated one, is immune to wear and tear of its working parts. The Ukrainian company Bas-Agro LLC manufactures and stocks drive chains, sowing discs, sprockets, and other critical components compatible with Kverneland seed drills, so farmers can obtain original geometry at an affordable price in national currency and without long waits for imported supplies. You can view the current range of spare parts for Kverneland seed drills at: https://bas.ua/en/shop/compatible-with-kverneland-000000014-1 .
The new 35 cm Kultistrip press wheels show how a single design tweak can adapt strip-till to shifting climate risks. Paired with Kverneland’s broad seeder portfolio—from the ultra-fast Optima SX to the versatile e-drill maxi plus—the Norwegian-German brand proves its “planting innovator” status. Combined with service and spare parts from Bas-Agro LLC, these solutions become even more attractive to Ukrainian farms aiming for precise seeding, fuel economy and agronomic resilience.
