The start of sunflower harvesting in southern Ukraine was marked by favorable weather and promising yields. The oilseed has once again won its place in the sunny fields, and the market, as always, is in a positive mood.

Most of the harvest has already found its buyers under international trade terms such as FOB and CIF. Italy's purchase of 1,000 tons of Ukrainian oilseeds at $465/t only confirms the stable demand for this important agricultural product. And this is only the beginning - the market is preparing for additional turnover.

Analysts and experts predict that the sunflower harvest will be a success amid favorable weather with high temperatures and no precipitation. This can already significantly increase the supply of sunflower products on the market.

An important factor affecting price dynamics is the purchase price of raw materials for processing. Processors have already announced prices of $370/t excluding VAT, which is a bid for stability in the first months of the harvest. Analysts predict that the purchase prices in August-September will be in the range of 14500-15000 UAH/t.

Although the traditional decline in prices in mid-September by 1000-1500 UAH/t is expected due to harvest pressure, experts emphasize that in November-December prices may resume their growth, reaching 17000-18000 UAH/t. This seasonal pattern emphasizes the upward trend in sunflower prices, which may be due not only to the domestic market, but also to changes at the global level.

Against this backdrop, it is important to note the global rise in vegetable oil prices, which will also affect the level of purchase prices for Ukrainian sunflower. Given the growing demand for healthy and natural products of plant origin, sunflower oil has every chance of further positioning as a valuable product with high added value.
