The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has updated its website and added a new section dedicated to agricultural market statistics. The new section is called "GrainUkraine - Agricultural Market Statistics" and contains data on global balances of key crops and their derivatives, such as wheat, corn, barley, sunflower and others. This is a unique interactive database in the world that combines various statistical information from various sources, including data on exports, imports, consumption, production of countries over the past 20 years, as well as monthly USDA WASDE reports on global grain supply and demand.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Denys Bashlyk emphasized that the new section was created to provide farmers with free access to up-to-date and complete statistics that will allow them to be fully informed about the current situation on world markets, as well as to understand the risks of changes in prices for grain and its products.
"In fact, a unique interactive database has been created that has no analogues in the world. It combines many statistical sources. The information is collected and consolidated in a single place, and it is all in Ukrainian," said Denys Bashlyk.
The database is operated by AgroChart, a company that specializes in providing analytical information on the agricultural sector. The company signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and provided its system for free use by Ukrainian farmers. AgroChart founder Bohdan Tymkiv said that the database will be useful for agricultural market players as it will help them to respond quickly to market conditions, forecast their activities and, in the long run, find new markets and new business partners. The database contains statistics of agricultural markets for the last 20 years!
