Popular spare parts for agricultural machinery in May

Following the results of the spring 2025 sowing campaign, which by mid-May had already covered more than 23 million hectares of sown area in Ukraine, farmers are actively updating the working units of seeders and cultivators, especially those that directly affect the accuracy of sowing sunflower and corn and the stability of the pneumatic system. Four items were the most popular in May: the Gaspardo sunflower seed disc (G10123560), the 24044400 seeding unit for Horsch Maestro, the AC820825 fan wheel for Kverneland pneumatic seeders and the AC819717 double-disc coulter for Optima/Accord systems. Below is a detailed analysis of why these spare parts have become the leaders of orders and how to plan their purchases correctly.

Why does May heat up the demand for spare parts?

May is the peak of sunflower sowing (May 15-25 in the central regions) and the end of corn sowing, when the load on sowing machines reaches its maximum. Farmers have already planted over 2.36 mln ha of sunflower and 6.5 mln ha of spring crops in total, as confirmed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. In the context of double changes and rising grain prices, as set out in Order No. 1736 of 12.05.2025 of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, it is critical to minimize equipment downtime. Therefore, consumables for pneumatic and disk seeders are purchased “with a margin” even before the start of the main work.

TOP-4 spare parts in May:

1. Gaspardo G10123560 sunflower sowing disk

The sowing disk with 26 holes Ø 2.5 mm ensures uniform supply of large sunflower seeds to the metering chamber of the MS/MT Gaspardo seeder. Agronomists note that at a density of 55-60 thousand seeds/ha, a disk with intact holes increases germination by up to 4% compared to a worn-out one. In May, the demand is growing due to the peak sowing of sunflower, which occupies more than 2.3 million hectares this season.

2. Crop residue spreader 24044400 (Horsch Maestro)

A crop residue spreader, which is recommended to be replaced after 1,000 hectares, which explains the wave of May orders at the central warehouse of Horsch Ukraine near Kyiv.

3. Fan wheel AC820825 (Kverneland)

The wheel creates a working vacuum of up to 5 kPa in the Optima V metering system, “shooting” seeds with an air flow of 70 km/h. Worn-out blades reduce pressure and cause misses, so the manufacturer advises replacing them after 700 hours or before the second wave of soybean planting in June. In May, farmers order fan wheels as a backup, especially when switching to higher seeding rates for corn.

4. Double disc coulter AC819717 (Kverneland)

The Ø 410 mm discs with a furrowing profile create a V-shaped furrow and provide a depth of up to 6 cm even in hard post-winter soil. If the edge is worn by more than 3 mm, the load on the markers and bearings increases and the sowing capacity decreases by 8% - therefore, replacement in May before inter-row cultivation is a standard recommendation from dealers.

Logistics and service: the role of the local manufacturer

All the above-mentioned parts can be ordered directly from Bas-Agro LLC (Cherkasy, Khomenka Lane 8/1) - the company produces and supplies compatible spare parts for Gaspardo, Horsch, Kverneland and other brands, maintaining a stock of more than 20 thousand items. Thanks to regional day-to-day logistics, customers have reduced the average downtime from 24 to 16 hours during the 2024-2025 sowing season, according to BAS customer questionnaires. It is enough to call the number on the bas.ua website or place an order through the online catalog to receive the part by Nova Poshta courier the next day.

Tips for purchasing at the end of the sowing season

  • Plan for a double set of disks and fans - one in operation and one in reserve: this rule helps to avoid downtime during peak sowing days.
  • Check the wear of the disc coulter edge at least once every 200 hectares; critical wear of the cutting edge can result in a 5-8% decrease in depth accuracy.
  • Maintain vacuum systems by replacing fan wheels, cleaning air filters and checking belt pulleys.

Conclusion

May traditionally concentrates the highest loads on sowing units, so timely renewal of disks, fan wheels and coulters is the key to uniform germination and fuel economy. By using local warehouses of Bas-Agro LLC with spare parts for agricultural machinery and planning purchases in advance, farms minimize downtime and keep costs under control even amid fluctuating grain prices.
