Monosem MS Electron — the Electric Era of Precision Small-Seed Planting
1. 56 V Electric Drive: accuracy that saves resources
The new MS Electron inherits the proven metering unit of the Monosem MS series, yet replaces chains and shafts with individual 56-volt electric motors on every row unit. The drive unlocks two game-changing functions:
- Automatic row shut-off via GPS — no more overlaps at headlands or field wedges.
- Rate modulation — the controller fine-tunes seed density and micro-granulate dosage per row, perfect for variable soils.
2. SeedWatch Mini: a “smart counter” beneath each disc
Each opener houses an optical SeedWatch Mini sensor that continuously counts seeds, immune to dust and glare. Live feedback on skips and doubles lets the operator adjust settings on the go.
3. Control with ISOBUS SeedStar M and smartphone
All settings appear on the ISOBUS SeedStar M terminal; quick meter calibration can be done straight from a smartphone via the Monosem Plus app (optional module).
4. Chassis & configurations
Configuration | Rows | Min. row spacing | Working width | Transport width* |
---|---|---|---|---|
Electron 12 | 12 | 20 cm | up to 6 m | 3.0 m |
Electron 15 | 15 | 20 cm | up to 7 m | 3.5 m |
Electron 18 | 18 | 20 cm | up to 7 m | 3.5 m |
*Hydraulic folding keeps road width compact.
5. MicroSmart — pinpoint micro-granulate application
For localised fertiliser or biostimulant placement, the planter equips MicroSmart micro-granulators, each row metered independently.
6. Benefits for growers
- Up to 10 % seed savings thanks to GPS row shut-off.
- Uniform emergence and therefore synchronised crop maturity.
- Lower maintenance — no chains means fewer daily greasing and adjustments.
- Precision-ag ready — full ISOBUS compliance and VRA task-map support.
7. Where to source spare parts in Ukraine?
Bas-Agro LLC (Cherkasy) manufactures and supplies Monosem-compatible spare parts, including meters, discs, seed tubes and consumables. See the live catalogue here: bas.ua › Monosem spare parts.
Summary
MS Electron shows how electric drives and digital sensors turn classic vegetable planters into high-precision tools for modern farming. With local support and parts from Bas-Agro, adopting electronic planting becomes even simpler and safer for Ukrainian growers.
