LEMKEN Faya MF is a new precision planter for wide-row crops, presented by the German manufacturer in autumn 2025. It is a classic single-seed precision drill that complements the well-known LEMKEN Azurit with Delta Row technology, but works according to the “one coulter – one row” scheme. According to LEMKEN, Faya MF is already available as a pre-series machine, with full-scale series production planned for 2027.
Concept and positioning of LEMKEN Faya MF
Faya MF belongs to LEMKEN’s new line of precision planters and is intended for seeding wide-row crops such as sugar beet, soybean, sunflower, maize and other row crops.
Key concept highlights:
- Classic single-row precision planter (single-row seeding), closing the gap for farms that prefer not to work with Delta Row, but with traditional in-row plant placement.
- High output and accuracy: the machine is designed for farms and contractors that require both maximum seeding accuracy and high daily capacity.
- Pre-series status: currently these are pre-series machines already working at partner farms, with further refinement before full production in 2027.
Modular frame and configuration options
The heart of Faya MF is a 6-metre modular frame with central (two-section) folding, which provides convenient transport and good manoeuvrability in the field.
The machine is available in three main versions:
- Faya MF/8 — 8-row version
- Faya MF/9 — 9-row version
- Faya MF/12 — 12-row version
Thanks to the modular frame, several row-spacing options are available:
row spacing range — from 45 to 80 cm, depending on configuration;
a special feature is the possibility of quick reconfiguration from 12 × 50 cm to 8 × 75 cm — in practice, a switch from “beet” spacing to “maize–sunflower” spacing on the same machine.
This allows you to:
cover several crops in the crop rotation with one implement;
let service/contractor companies quickly adjust the planter for different farms;
utilise the machine better over the whole season, spreading the payback over more hectares.
Metering unit with overpressure: accuracy at high speed
The Faya MF metering unit is based on Equalizer technology (LEMKEN’s South African division) and operates with overpressure.
Main technical solutions:
Overpressure in the sealed housing presses each seed to the holes in the seed disc and ensures stable singulation even in difficult conditions.
A scraper prevents doubles, while the control system allows:
mechanical settings for each row;
electrical adjustments via the terminal;
automatic adjustment based on signals from the seed flow sensor.
Maximum working speed — up to 16 km/h, while maintaining a high level of seed placement accuracy.
This approach makes it possible to:
reduce energy consumption (wear-resistant sealing without contact with the seed disc);
work stably at higher speeds and under high load — which is critical for large fields and very tight sowing windows.
Coulters and depth control
The coulter assembly of the Faya MF is one of the strongest parts of the machine:
Double-disc offset coulter with a small opening angle — geometry borrowed from no-till drills, but adapted for precision planting.
The small angle:
- reduces soil movement;
- lowers sidewall compaction in the furrow;
- reduces draft requirement.
Side gauge (depth) wheels (optionally with scrapers) stabilise sowing depth and improve emergence quality, especially on heavy or moist soils.
Key parameter:
Maximum downforce on the coulter — up to 350 kg per row unit, with three variants of adjustment: mechanical, hydraulic or automatic.
This allows:
- operation both on conventionally tilled soil and after minimum- or no-till;
- stable depth control even on uneven terrain and heterogeneous fields;
- fine-tuning for each field, crop and moisture condition.
Seed hoppers and service ergonomics
Each Faya MF row unit is equipped with a sealed seed hopper of up to 70 litres.
Features:
Lids can be locked in the open position — convenient for filling from bags or big bags.
The metering unit has a bottom flap for fast, tool-free emptying of leftover seed and switching to another crop.
Optional low-level seed sensors warn on the terminal when the hopper level is low, helping to avoid skips caused by empty hoppers.
For large farms this means:
minimised downtime for refilling;
continuous control of sowing quality in real time.
Fertiliser application and combinations with other LEMKEN equipment
Faya MF can work either as a standalone precision planter, or as part of a seeding and fertilising combination placing fertiliser in the row:
Mineral fertiliser:
combination with the front tank Solitair F;
or with the rear tank Solitair PT together with a Zirkon rotary harrow for simultaneous seedbed preparation and planting.
Liquid fertiliser:
combination with the front tank SprayHub;
liquid fertiliser is supplied directly to fertiliser coulters via hoses.
Fertiliser coulter options:
heavy single-disc coulter (with or without depth wheel) with downforce up to 175 kg;
lighter double-disc fertiliser coulter — for light and pre-cultivated soils.
Thus, Faya MF integrates naturally into an existing LEMKEN fleet, enabling one-pass technologies: soil preparation + fertiliser application + precision planting.
Digital systems iQblue and ISOBUS
Faya MF fully supports LEMKEN’s modern electronic platform iQblue.
Main digital functions:
iQblue seed — ISOBUS terminal with a unified interface for various LEMKEN drills and planters. The machine can be operated via LEMKEN CCI or any universal tractor ISOBUS terminal.
iQblue section control — automatic switching of individual sections on and off to avoid overlaps and misses on headlands, wedges and irregularly shaped fields.
iQblue tramline control — automatic tramline management according to the track width of the tractor and sprayer, especially effective when combined with GPS guidance.
iQblue rate control — variable-rate application of seed and/or fertiliser according to prescription maps, with independent control of several components.
In practice this means:
precise seeding maps and reduced seed and fertiliser consumption;
fewer overlaps and better compliance with agronomic requirements;
lower operator workload, especially during night shifts.

Who is LEMKEN Faya MF designed for?
Considering its design and equipment, Faya MF is primarily aimed at:
large arable farms growing sugar beet, maize, sunflower, soybean and other wide-row crops;
agricultural service/contractor companies, which need fast row spacing changes during the season;
farms that have very short sowing windows and require high operating speed without loss of quality;
users who already operate Solitair F / Solitair PT / SprayHub and want to integrate precision planting and fertiliser application into a single LEMKEN technology chain.
This is not a low-budget “mass” machine, but rather a high-performance professional tool for those who carefully calculate every machine-hour and every percentage point of emergence uniformity.
