KUHN Introduces MASTER M - A New Series of Mounted Reversible Ploughs for 110 - 240 hp Tractors
KUHN has expanded its plough portfolio with the new-generation MASTER M range of mounted reversible ploughs. The series targets the most common tractor segment in farms - 110 - 240 hp - and is positioned as an evolution of KUHN’s MASTER concept: straightforward day-to-day operation, precise settings, and improved comfort both in the field and on the road.
Range Positioning: 4 - 6 Furrows and Two Working-Width Concepts
MASTER M is a line of mounted reversible ploughs with 4 - 6 furrows, offered with two approaches to working width:
MULTI-MASTER M - mechanical step adjustment (4 fixed positions).
VARI-MASTER M - hydraulic variable working width, adjusted continuously from the cab.
According to KUHN, the MULTI system provides 4 positions from 35 - 50 cm, while the overall working-width range for the series is stated as 12 - 22 inches (approximately 30 - 56 cm) depending on configuration and settings.
Key Focus of the New Series: Safer, More Maneuverable Road Transport
One of the core ideas behind MASTER M is making a mounted plough more convenient for frequent moves between fields. To achieve this, KUHN emphasizes solutions at the headstock level and within transport-support options.
GODRIVE: A Transport Headstock with “Semi-Mounted-Like” Steering
The GODRIVE option is an oscillating transport headstock that delivers ±40° steering angle and is presented as providing road handling comparable to semi-mounted machines. Importantly, KUHN specifies road travel approval up to 40 km/h, subject to compliance and correct equipment specification.
EASYDRIVE: Fast “Field - Road” Switching Without Tools
The EASYDRIVE option simplifies switching from working to transport position by enabling quick neutralization of the top link (3rd point) without tools. KUHN highlights that GODRIVE and EASYDRIVE complement each other and can be combined.
OPTIDRIVE: Damping on Headlands and Uneven Ground
OPTIDRIVE is described as a front suspension/damping system designed to improve smoothness during headland turns and on uneven ground while reducing shock loads on the implement.
Wheels and Support: WORK AND ROLL and WNR for Field and Road
KUHN also focuses on wheel support solutions for the MASTER M series:
WORK AND ROLL - a hydraulic transport wheel system intended, especially in combination with GODRIVE, to improve road stability and handling.
WNR (combined wheel) - presented as a new-generation “combi wheel” featuring tool-free handling, a large diameter as a balance between traction and reduced soil compaction, hydraulic depth adjustment from the cab, and automatic folding on headlands to lower the center of gravity.
KUHN also mentions “butterfly” parking with a double front stand, aimed at space-saving and more convenient storage.
Frame, Layout, and Adjustments: Built for Daily Use
In the MASTER M design, KUHN emphasizes:
a redesigned triangular frame for improved weight distribution and reduced tractor “nodding” when lifting;
hydraulic protection through integrated routing of components and hoses;
modularity intended to support adaptation as farm requirements change.
Among KUHN’s featured adjustment solutions are independent settings for offset and camber, as well as the patented 3D-SKIM skimmers, designed for quick and clear adjustment.
Stone Protection: NSH or Shear Bolt
MASTER M is offered with two protection concepts:
NSH (Non-Stop Hydraulic) - hydraulic non-stop protection with a dedicated accumulator per body, and specified trip values of 70 cm vertical lift and 20 cm lateral deflection.
T (shear bolt) - mechanical protection; for this version KUHN states 80 cm underbeam clearance, intended to improve residue flow and ease of maintenance.

What It Means in Practice
MASTER M looks like KUHN’s effort to rethink the mounted plough for modern farming logistics, where moves between fields and operation across multiple blocks are routine. The combined focus on GODRIVE + EASYDRIVE + OPTIDRIVE, along with transport and field wheel support (WORK AND ROLL, WNR), clearly points to a priority: predictable on-road behavior without compromising ploughing quality or adjustment convenience in the field.
Where to Buy Parts and Order Custom Metal Components
If you need parts for tillage equipment (including ploughs and related implements), you can purchase them from BAS-Agro LLC (Cherkasy, Ukraine) on https://bas.ua/ in the dedicated tillage spare parts section: https://bas.ua/shop/spare-parts-for-tillage-equipment-000000029-1
BAS-Agro also offers custom metal spare-part manufacturing based on drawings or physical samples - a practical option when you need a non-standard component, a restored part, or a batch of items tailored to a specific machine.
