Huida HD540S — a New Star in the Agri-Drone Market for High-Precision Field Treatments
Market overview and positioning
Global demand for agricultural drones keeps rising, and last year the Chinese company Huida Technology introduced the HD540S, designed specifically for crop-protection spraying, liquid-fertilizer application, and seeding of small seeds.
Engineering highlights
The HD540S is a six-rotor hexacopter (49 kg including batteries) with a foldable 2.05 × 0.9 m frame that packs down to 1.15 × 0.7 m for transport. Unloaded flight time reaches 18 minutes, while an all-around 360° radar scans the surroundings to avoid collisions even in complex terrain.
Package and tank capacities
The standard kit ships with three smart batteries, an 8.5 kW fast charger, a remote controller, a 40 L liquid tank, and two centrifugal atomizers. Flying at 3.5 m AGL, the drone produces an 11 m spray swath. With liquid tanks on board, max take-off weight is 89 kg (99 kg with the spreader), and a full working sortie lasts about 7.5 minutes within a 2 km radius.
Performance figures
Spray throughput hits 24 L/min, with droplet size adjustable between 50 and 500 µm to match different crops. Mission routes are planned and executed fully autonomously — from take-off to return.
Protection and reliability
Key components feature triple-layer sealing against dust, water, and corrosion, meeting IP65 — critical for humid or dusty field environments.
Seeding and spreading productivity
A larger 60 L hopper for seeds or granular fertilizers delivers up to 110 kg/min, translating into roughly 22 ha/h peak spreading capacity.
About the manufacturer
Heilongjiang Huida Technology Development Co., Ltd., founded in 2009 in Harbin, focuses on smart ag-tech: BeiDou + GPS RTK guidance, IoT sensors, and unmanned solutions. Huida products now operate in more than 50 countries, with European support provided by dealers such as Vector AGR Polska.
Ukrainian context and spare-parts service
For Ukrainian growers, fast access to replacement parts and consumables is crucial. Bas-Agro LLC, a domestic producer and distributor of spares for imported farm machinery (seeders, headers, tillage tools, etc.), fills this gap. The company stocks parts nationwide and can manufacture components to drawings or samples, simplifying HD540S servicing after heavy field workloads.
By combining output (up to 24 L/min and 22 ha/h), an adaptive spray system, and IP65 protection, the Huida HD540S stands out as a competitive choice for large Ukrainian farms seeking to cut labor and boost precision in agrochemical and fertilizer application. The presence of a local spare-parts supplier like Bas-Agro LLC further strengthens the platform’s appeal, ensuring rapid drone turnaround and an uninterrupted season.
