Croptimal Croptiscan 9000: Artificial Intelligence in Potato Farming

In September 2025, at the international PotatoEurope exhibition in Lelystad (the Netherlands), the spotlight was on Croptimal with its innovative machine — the Croptiscan 9000. This agricultural implement received the Innovation Award, proving that modern farming solutions are increasingly based on artificial intelligence and automation.

How the Croptiscan 9000 Works

The Croptiscan 9000 is designed specifically to combat potato diseases. At the front of the machine, there is a wide 9-meter hood with 12 cameras and powerful lighting, enabling the capture of leaf images even at night. Artificial intelligence analyzes the images and identifies diseases such as Y-virus or leaf-roll virus.

Detected plants are immediately marked with a special liquid sprayed at the rear of the machine. This allows for immediate removal of infected plants or for follow-up action later.

It is important to note that the Croptiscan 9000 is not fully autonomous: the machine is driven by an operator who supervises the process. However, the intelligent system significantly reduces operator workload and saves time.
