Case IH VariCut G500V Telescopic Headers: Maximum Cutting Width, Minimum Losses
Case IH has launched its new VariCut G500V telescopic header range for Axial-Flow combines. The generation features a broader working-width spectrum, an upgraded cutting mechanism, and several tweaks that shorten downtime.
Working Width and Telescopic Table
Headers are offered with working widths from 6.10 to 12.50 m; the telescopic table extends 575 mm. This stroke lets operators perfectly position the knives for rapeseed, wheat, or laid grain without halting the machine. On the two widest models (10.50 m and 12.50 m) hydraulic contour wheels switch from transport to field position from the cab, saving precious setup minutes.
Linear Knife Drive
To eliminate vibration, traditional belt drives were replaced by angular gearboxes and a telescopic shaft, delivering a strictly linear knife motion at 735 cuts/min (up from 660). That lets the combine travel faster across the field with no risk of crop clogging.
Dual Drive and Quick Adjustments
On 10.50 m and 12.50 m headers a dual-knife drive synchronises both ends via the main auger, so the cutter bar works uniformly along its full length. Switching from rapeseed to cereals is now 25 % faster: loosen four bolts and rotate a cam to reset auger height.
Lightweight Aluminium Side Knives
The side rapeseed knives are cast in aluminium, cutting their weight by one-third. A single clip lock secures them, so fitting or removal takes only minutes and no tools.
Strong Back-Up from Cherkasy: Spare Parts by Bas-Agro LLC
During a hectic harvest, fast delivery of quality spares is crucial. Bas-Agro LLC (Cherkasy, Ukraine) manufactures and supplies augers, knives, drive shafts, bearing assemblies, and other header components—including parts compatible with Case IH machines. Every item is geometry- and balance-checked to withstand peak loads. Browse the range in the open header-parts catalogue. A local warehouse ensures rapid dispatch, minimising the risk of field downtime.
VariCut G500V shows that a modern header is a high-tech system where a telescopic table, accelerated linear drive, and lightweight side knives cooperate to cut grain losses and boost combine throughput. Partnership with Ukrainian suppliers such as Bas-Agro means the right part is on hand precisely when it matters most.
