At the beginning of September 2023, farmers in all regions of Ukraine, except for Transcarpathia, started sowing winter crops. In total, 1,155 thousand hectares of land have been sown, of which 905.9 thousand hectares are winter rape and 249 thousand hectares are winter grains (wheat - 228.6 thousand hectares, barley - 10.8 thousand hectares and rye - 9.5 thousand hectares).
This data was announced on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and it shows the great potential of Ukrainian agriculture. Such a large area of sown land indicates that farmers believe in the high yields and efficiency of winter crops, which make a great contribution to the country's economic development.
The latest data also indicate that winter rapeseed and winter grains have been planted intensively. In just one week, winter rapeseed was sown on 251 thousand hectares, and winter grain on 204 thousand hectares.
One of the interesting aspects is that winter rapeseed sowing has been completed in farms in Volyn, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions. This demonstrates the wide geographical distribution of winter rapeseed cultivation and farmers' confidence in this crop. These regions are known for their diversity of soil and climatic conditions, which confirms the adaptability of winter rapeseed to different growing conditions.

It is worth mentioning the regions with the largest volume of winter grain sowing. For example, farmers in Sumy region sowed 25.9 thousand hectares of winter grains, which is 50% of the forecast. As for winter rapeseed, the largest amount was sown in Dnipropetrovska oblast - 93.4 thou hectares, which is 74.4% of the forecast. Winter crops are an important part of the food supply and development of the national economy.
