The line consists of three Planter pneumatic precision seed drills, which are equipped with six types of frames designed for all types of farms. From one-piece frames to telescopic and folding frames, you will find an option that suits your needs and soil type. With row spacing from 25 to 80 cm, you can choose from 3 to 12 rows for precise and powerful sowing. This seed drill complies with European transport width standards, allowing you to achieve your cost-effective targets with simple settings, increased precision and customized options that meet your needs.

The improved sowing unit of the Kuhn PLANTER 3

The sowing unit of the PLANTER 3 precision air seeder has been significantly improved. Important features include a lowered seed outlet height, now less than 10 cm from the soil level. This sowing unit is able to work with different types of seeds and ensures maximum precision. There are three types of sowing units available for the PLANTER 3:

1. Rear coulter: The economical version with a rear support point for deep sowing.
2. Pendulum: specially designed for beetroot with two reference points at the rear and front for perfect depth control on prepared soil.
3. Spacer with opening disc: designed for processing soil with a large amount of crop residues; this device adjusts the depth with the help of the front wheels and the rear copy wheel, opening the furrow with two discs.

Distribution is another variable that has been improved in the PLANTER 3. The seed pick-up unit is equipped with a robust aluminum casing and operates on the principle of reduced air pressure, which increases the reliability of the device and ensures uniformity of work thanks to mechanical ejection.

A choice for every need with four different frame groups

KUHN is introducing the PLANTER 3 range with four different frame groups to suit different applications:

- The solid frame: allows for 3 to 18 rows with a working width of 2.50 to 9 meters.
- Simple telescopic: designed for easy transportation, it allows sowing 6 to 8 rows with four different row spacing (50, 55, 75 or 80 cm).
- Positioned telescopic: allows you to sow six rows with different row spacing. The Kuhn PLANTER 3 is extremely durable and features the patented VARIMAX technology.
- Folding: Ideal for large farms, it has a transport width of 3 meters and allows sowing in one, two or three sections.

The precision seed drills are available with 2 to 6 wheels and are equipped with 25 liter hoppers as standard, with 47 liter hoppers available as an option.

XL/XXL model for larger farms

The PLANTER 3 range is completed by the PLANTER 3 TRS, which is designed for large or even very large farms. With 24 rows and a row spacing of 45 cm for beetroot, you can achieve high productivity. To adapt the machine to smaller tractors, it can be converted to 16 or 18 rows with a row spacing of 70 cm for sowing corn and sunflower. This seed drill can be folded for transportation up to a width of 3.50 m and does not comply with European Union standards. The sowing unit of this model provides maximum precision, guaranteeing uniform depth and density of sowing regardless of the type of seed. In addition, the beams that support the seed drill follow the ground, ensuring a constant sowing depth in all conditions on the Kuhn PLANTER 3.

KUHN offers the option to equip your Planter 3 precision air seeder with equipment that adapts to your needs. This equipment allows you to optimize sowing depending on the type of soil, the presence of stones and the amount of plant residue. It includes:

Fertilization equipment for the Kuhn PLANTER 3

The PLANTER 3 precision air seeder can be equipped with four types of hoppers for fertilizer application: 2 x 190 liters, 2 x 260 liters, 1 x 950 liters or 1 x 1350 liters. The fertilizer is metered through the chutes and the metering opening is adjusted by a knob and pointer. You can switch off the row by closing the distributor opening and maintenance of the camshaft is possible by quick disassembly.

Depending on the type of hopper, you can also choose from different types of spreading devices to distribute fertilizer in all conditions:

- Standard spreading unit for a well-prepared seedbed.
- Continuous coulter with continuous coulter.
- The disc spreader for the TCS model.

An optional fertilizer hopper can also be installed. The Kuhn PLANTER 3 precision air seeder can be combined with the TF 1512 for fertilizer application, which allows for high volume and maximum balance.

Electronic equipment

You can now control the seeding from the cab thanks to the electronic units installed on the tractor. There are three different units for different types of control:

KMS 208: Simple and fast, it ensures pass control and correct seed release row by row.
KMS 548: All functions in one unit, which provides an instant display of density, diagrams and area calculation.
KMD 112: Save seed with row marking; this unit allows for electronic control of seed release.

In addition, the ISOBUS CCI 1200 and 50 control units are now available to control all sowing steps. This saves costs by automatically switching off rows based on GPS signals. On ISOBUS drills, these units are also compatible with the major terminals on the market, such as Fendt, JD and others.
