The German startup Escarda Technologies, founded in 2019 in Berlin, has introduced an innovative laser weed control system that is now ready for commercial use. This technology combines artificial intelligence, multispectral sensors, and precision lasers to accurately eliminate weeds without the use of chemicals.

How it works

The Escarda system uses cameras and computer vision algorithms to identify plants in the field. Once weeds are detected, a laser beam is directed at them, destroying or severely damaging them. This approach allows crops to grow without competition for nutrients, contributing to increased yields.
